How to Relieve COVID-19 Symptoms In A TCM Perspective

The Lack of information on what to expect when you are COVID positive is leaving us stranded at home, not knowing what to do. The only treatment recommended is Rest, Fluid, and Panadol.

So to help everyone get through this difficult time, I’ve compiled a list of the common symptoms and what we can do at home to help relieve them.

General food to avoid during Cold and Flu:

- Spicy, deep-fried, oily, and processed foods

- Cakes and pastries with lots of sugar

- Dairy such as milk, yogurt, cheese

- Alcohol

- Red meat or seafood

- Carbs that’s hard to digest

- Icy cold foods and drinks

- Tropical fruits

Food that is suitable during Cold and Flu:

+ Warm water

+ Lemon water (once a day)

+ Fresh Vegetables

+ Chicken

+ Soups and broth

+ Congee

+ Fruits rich in Vitamin C and Zinc

In TCM,

Cold and flu cannot be combated with just one medication.

It is categorised into different conditions based on the symptoms and treated accordingly to suit each individual.

Cold and flu can even transform into other more complex conditions when left untreated and turn into weeks of cough, fatigue, and lethargy, leading to what some may call “long COVID”.
